We believe that companies with actively involved share owners perform better over the long-term. We also believe that in Japan a constructive and culturally sensitive “Japanese way” of engaging is much more effective over the long-term than a more aggressive, short-term approach.

GO Investment Partners (“GO”) is an independent partnership, majority owned by its senior executives. The founders of GO have been managing constructive engagement funds since 1998. We offer a number of investment management and stewardship services, including:

  • The TMAM-GO Japan Engagement Fund (JEF), a joint venture with Tokio Marine Asset Management. The Fund invests in a concentrated portfolio of small/mid-cap quoted companies in Japan and uses an effective ‘Japanese way’ of engagement with management and boards in order to improve long-term share price performance.

  • Japan Stewardship Services (JSS) provides engagement with the boards and management of clients’ portfolio companies on issues that enhance shareholder value including ESG matters. The JSS also provides independent and bespoke advice on how to vote at clients’ Japanese portfolio company meetings as well as independent and fiduciary proxy voting.

  • The Japan Engagement Consortium (JEC), launched in 2009, functions as an actionable investors’ forum for clients who have, a keen interest in and commitment to, active share ownership of major Japanese companies.
